May 10, 2008 - May Bird Count Results
Submitted by Harlow Bielefeldt, Corresponding Secretary

This is the e-Bird report for the Goss Bird Club Spring Count last weekend. Thirty birders covered the areas designated in the Christmas Count map and then elsewhere in the county.
At the Tally Dinner that evening 29 members and guests reported 133 species. Not bad for a cool cloudy day that apparently lay between migrant waves. Many migrants were seen only once or twice by observers.
Highlights were the early morning abundance of gaudy Baltimore Orioles, a lone Cerulean Warbler at Lapham Peak and Whip-poor-will in the Southern Kettle Moraine.

December 16, 2006 - Christmas Bird Count Results

In the table below are results from the last three years of the Waukesha CBC.
The 2006 results can be found in first column.

The count was affected by the absence of snow cover, lots of open water and the mild temps. The Rusty Blackbird was a good find. Waterfowl were more numerous.  Typical roadside passerines were present in reduced numbers.
