Sunday, May 3, 2009 - 8:00 A.M.
Turtle Valley State Wildlife Area (Walworth Co.) for waterfowl, both meadowlarks, sparrows and possible upland sandpipers.  We'll meet at the parking area along P.


Saturday, May 10, 2009 (Mother’s Day) - 8:00 A.M.
South Kettle Moraine State Forest (Waukesha Co.) including Paradise Springs, Scuppernong Springs, Ottawa Lake, Hwy N and Wilton Rd, the Mackie Picnic Area and Piper Rd.  We will end our trip at Moretti's to view the new water feature.  Bring a bag lunch to eat in the screenhouse, if desired.  Meet at Paradise Springs at 8:00 A.M.  Note, a Wisconsin State Parks Sticker is required for parking.

Traditionally, we have gone to Turtle Valley State Wildlife Area, but we could decide to go somewhere else.  VERNON MARSH is a possibility or HORICON MARSH.  Details later.

WISCONSIN SOCIETY FOR ORNITHOLOGY

LAPHAM PEAK STATE PARK - Sundays in 2009: April 26th, May 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th
Sunday Morning Bird Hikes led by Mike Fort

Meet at the Evergreen Shelter in the lower parking lot at 7:00 A.M.
A State Parks sticker will be needed for vehicle parking.

Lapham Peak is located about 1 mile south of I-94 on Hwy. C.  Entrance is on east side of road.  State park sticker required. Ponds, fields, woods.
BIRDS: Spring–ducks, geese, herons, hawks, owls, woodpeckers (including Pileated), bluebirds, swallows and other passerines.

Please note that parking in the State Parks designated as fee areas require a Wisconsin Parks Motor Vehicle Admission Sticker.  These are available at the sites.  A senior sticker cost $10.00.
